Why raw portraits?
You go through a big life change. You try to get back to “normal again.”
But you realize there is no more “normal” and there is no “again.”
When I went flat after breast cancer in 2022, I was there too. I didn’t recognize the woman I saw in the mirror.
Life felt like I’d lost my glasses, bumping my shins into corners of furniture in the dark.
I had no more “normal” but I did have a camera and a light.
So I decided to shine a light on what I was ashamed of… my bare, empty chest (and everything I’d made that mean).
And then I rewrote the story. Because we can rewrite any story - we just have to be willing to look at it first.
Soon I realized I am whole, not despite what I lack but because of it.
That’s the power of raw portraits.
That’s why I carry others through the experience now… one where we break all the rules. Where we ask, what if you can show up and love yourself anyway? What could that mean for your life?
What if you don’t need to be fixed, you just need to come home to yourself?
I’m here to guide you through it. Just trust fall and I’ll catch you.
